For us, it’s not just about tennis coaching

our programs.

Our goal is to inspire more players to get involved in tennis and encourage all to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Our programs are accessible to all ages and abilities.

From kids Hot Shots to adults groups and tailored privates, we have something for the whole family.

juniors

  • Tennis play is a new program that focuses on creating a team learning environment, similar to sports such as soccer and AFL. Kids learn the essential skills to become not just a great tennis player but a great all round athlete in a fun game based environment with their friends.

This program will complement what they learn in our on court Hot Shots program as it allows for a focus on essential skills and all round fitness.

Tennis Play’s program supports a larger group and is based around group games/activities which benefit from the energy a larger class creates. Each activity caters for 4-6 students working together, with each group rotating between various games. Each activity/game is based on and teaches the essential skills to learn tennis such as

    • Footwork

    • Timing

    • Tracking

    • Racquet Hand Eye Coordination

    • Over Head Coordination

    • Quick Decision Making

    • Multitasking

    • Balance

    • Fitness

A Tennis Play session consists of 3 main sections as follows:

    • Group Warm Up: A great way to get everyone on their toes and ready to go.

    • Group Activities/Games: The larger group will break into teams of 4-6 and work through 3-5 Activities/Games based on the fundamental pillars to create a great tennis player.

    • End Group game: A Fun group game at the end bringing all the students back together.

Why? Benefits of being part of a team

What I found from my playing experience was it always helped having a team of mates that you could connect, play a game and go to tournaments with. As shown in a study conducted in 2020, linked here, team sport has been linked to improved mental health, motivation and improved individual fitness to name a few key benefits.

Tennis play focuses on learning the necessary tennis skills but allows the kids freedom to learn with their friends in a fun team environment.

  • The Blue Ball stage is an introduction into tennis basics while further developing your childs’ fundamental perceptual motor skills and social development. Students will play with modified equipment, including larger low compression balls, mini nets, modified racquets/nets to encourage sensory and motor development such as coordination, balance and strength all in a fun and engaging environment.

We encourage parents/ carers to attend the sessions with their child.

    Duration: 30min class

  • The Red Ball stage is for tennis newcomers. We introduce kids to tennis basics as well as a focus on fitness and co-ordination. We use modified equipment to help your kid master the techniques and start hitting the ball like a pro. The ball is larger and has less compression than a yellow ball meaning it bounces at the optimum height for the student to develop the proper technique. Additionally the students learn on a modified court with lower nets.

There are 3 levels in the Red Stage:

    • Red Foundation (recommended for new students)

    • Red Intermediate

    • Red Matchplay (developing tournament skills)

    Duration: 30min class

    Groups Size: Max 12

  • After mastering the Red Ball stage, the students move on to Orange Ball where they continue to develop their technique. In our Orange Stage, students play on regular sized court with a shortened baseline and use 50% compression orange balls, which travel a little faster than the Blue or Red balls. This helps build speed on the court and pushes the student a little harder. The recommended racquet size for this stage is 23-25 inches.

There are three levels in the Orange Stage:

    • Orange Foundation (recommended for new students)

    • Orange Intermediate

    • Orange Matchplay (developing tournament skills)

    Duration: 45min class

    Groups Size: Max 12

  • The Green Stage is the next challenge for our students. The students use 75% compression green balls and play on a full-size court. By this stage, students start to build upon their tactical knowledge of the game while continuing to refine their technical skills.

There are three levels in the Green Stage:

    • Green Foundation (recommended for new students)

    • Green Intermediate

    • Green Matchplay (developing tournament skills)

    Duration: 45min class

    Groups Size: Max 12

  • The Yellow Stage gives students the opportunity to further develop their technique and match play skills. They’ll learn how to rally with purpose and power, improve their court coverage, doubles team work and net play. From here, students have the chance to compete in tournaments with the aim of playing the sport at a more advanced level.

There are three levels in the Yellow Stage:

    • Yellow Foundation (recommended for new students)

    • Yellow Intermediate

    • Yellow Matchplay (developing tournament skills)

    Duration: 45min class

    Groups Size: Max 12
